Leta Frog

It's been snowing all day long and our cable modem has been out until just right now (2:49 PM, BASTARDS!).

Could she have been anything else for Halloween? I DIDN'T THINK SO.

Adorable! Old Navy, right? My 2nd son wore the same one once. It really is an adorable costume! Leta is beautiful. I love the wrinkly nose!

Note to Annie: Unless everyone else knows something I don't know, trick or treating happened last night here in good old Utah (I hope we don't get any trick or treaters tonight - I don't have any candy!). In fact, the Mormons in my sister-in-law's (the only Catholic family on the block, apparently) neighborhood made it clear that there was to be NO TRICK OR TREATING in their neighborhood, PERIOD. Hmph. The nerve!

thank you - i was having a crappy day and i have been anxiously awaiting leta's costume debut :-)

oh btw, last night at my parent's house, this church went around going door to door handing out these papers printed with stories about how trick or treat orginated in europe when peasants had to give tax collectors treats and if they weren't good enough they would be burned alive in an altar to satan -it said on the pamphlet "those who claim to see the light should not walk in the darkness" and then talked about how tempting satan would send you to hell. i was going to scan the whole little handout and email it to you but i forgot it at my parent's house. there are a lot of fanatical crazies and creepy little *indpendent* churches here in central west virginia....my mom tried to get the little kids to take the candy anyway but their mom got mad and ordered them back into the van and scowled at us

Great photo, it looks like it could make the parenting magazine. As for the time change: my partner and I were listening to the news last evening and they reported the end to daylight savings....except in the praire proviences.......oh, the thought of moving was so temepting. Then I thought, why don't they have to experience their 8 month old, with a cold and teething his third tooth waking at 4:45 a.m. We decided not to change the clocks back until the morning when our daughter rises, at reasonable 7:00 a.m.

Here in Ashland, Oregon the whole town celebrates Halloween. We had a town parade down East Main. Heaps of fun! The parents seemed to be more into dressing up than the kids. Lots of cute kids, but no frog babies. Tonight downtown turns into an outdoor monster mash. Wild, crazy, totally hippy Ashland.

Wishing I had a family to dress up with,

Hey Carla Beth (comment 56) A family is not necessary to dress for Halloween. When I was growing up, my favorite house to visit was an old-maid Librarian who did the greatest spooky costumes. If we didn't know the house, I would not have known it to be her. She only gave out one small piece of candy because so many people came by for the drama and the sound effects. No one seems to be that cool anymore, not even me.
