Susie, sometimes my brain patterns imitate those of a normal human.
Most of the time, though, they dance to their own house mix of latin jazz and dirty garage rock. Even I say WTF to my thoughts all the time...
It reminds me of that line in the Elizabeth Bishop poem "Twelfth Morning" that goes "Is perspective dozing?" I think it's because the buildings are so flat and black, silhoutted against the sky; you can TELL there's some fancy perspective going on, but at the same time, it's almost muffled by the darkness of the shape of the building.
Uh, I'm going to stop playing mediocre-art-critic-crossed-with-earnest-English-major now. I just liked the fact that the line jumped into my head when I saw this.

I have had PI for about 2 years and I love it. I use it to crop and lighten. Shaun uses it to turn my mother into pope idol though. It works for lots of stuff.

And I am always open to donations of any kind......after all I'm a starving artist (sarcasm font). http://ninjamonkey3000.blogspot.com/
... small children of this age sometimes seem to only hear the last word of your sentence, so if you say "it's for you it's not for the dog" they hear only "for the dog" and so they'll inevitably give it to the dog ... which leads me to just SUGGEST (not advise) that you try saying "this is for you, Leta, YOU" and leave the dog out of the sentence ... might not work, but it's worth a try... It's kind of like "don't think of an elephant" (how couldja not?) ... better luck to the Senator in the future ... poor thing ... enough widda elipses.

LeafGirl77, I think many/most people use photoshop. I use it myself -- I don't know many people that have actually paid for it, though. It's free for the downloadin' through most PTP programs.
That photo reminds me of a motel I found in the middle of nowhere. I was so in the middle of nowhere that I don't even remember where nowhere was. Sorry, folks, but it might have been somewhere in Utah ... on my way to Colorado. The motel was like a mirage and there was a large neon sign on top. Who knows why they had that large sign. There was zero competition out there. Although if the motel was in Utah, it might have been their way of communicating to God: Vacancy! Vacancy! Vacancy! Room for more! Free bibles and coffee! Bless us, good Lord, we're doing your work! Vacancy! Flashing signs. Lucky I didn't have a seizure.
LeafGirl ... try Picasa from Google. Again, free for the download, helps organize all your pics, and has some simple tools for cropping and manipulating images. It's not a full-menu program, but for someone trying to achieve simple effects or corrections, it's all you'd need.

Well, the guy who plays the lead is like a cheap rip-off of Ben Affleck, and the main female lead looks just like a younger, pre-basic instict Sharon Stone...
So through the entire movie, I'm sitting there thinking...Is that Ben Affleck? Is THAT Sharon Stone.
Like when I saw the movie "The Frighteners" (good movie actually). There was this chick that looked JUST LIKE Andie McDowell... In fact, I think her resume actually says "Looks Just Like Andie McDowell"

Ok - totally off topic, but I need some help. I'm having an Atari party this weekend and I need help with snacks. What should I make besides rice krispies treats??
1 can artichoke hearts, chopped up, 1 cup mayo, 1 cup mozerella cheese, 1 cup parmeasan cheese, 1 tsp. garlic power, mix and put in baking dish at about 350 for maybe 20 minutes or until golden and bubble, serve with corn chips or crackers. Its super yummy

1 bag frozen hash brown potatoes, 2 cups shreaded cheese of personal choice, 1 can cream of potato soup, 1 medium sized container of sour cream, mix well. Spray baking pan with non stick spray, mush into pan, sprinkle with parmasean, bake at 400 for about an hour an a half until golden and bubbly. Its super good and super easy.
An Atari Party? Damn, that sounds fun. I miss Frogger and Donkey Kong. I would definitely serve stuff from the 80's - like Pop Rocks. What other stuff did we used to eat back then?
Nerds and fruit rollups are very 80's. And Garbage Pail Kids! They came with gum, I think, so you could serve those. If you have a Dillon's Candy Store near you they sell those and any retro candy you can think of.
I always loved Mike-n-Ike candies. And Hot Tamales, those little red candies. And wax lips! And those little wax bottles that you bite the tops off of and drink the juice inside. That is just downright goodness.
What is neck zapping? I missed something. Is that like bug zapping? I love those bug zappers. I know it is summertime when I hear the buzz of flies and gnats being electrocuted.
OH, and sour patch kids! Those rock! I also used to drink Coke through twizzlers. The Twizzler tastes really good when it is saturated in Coke or Mountain Dew.
I always get sour patch kids at the movies - (a) because they are my favorite and (b) because most people can't take the sourness of them and don't want to eat any, therefore I have them all to myself.

Neck zapping, its when you go to the chiropractor and they put 4 little pads on your neck and upper back and zap you up with current to make your muscles contract and release for 20 minutes so they can then wrench your head around and try to make your spine be good.

Anyone see Amityville yet?
Well, the guy who plays the lead is like a cheap rip-off of Ben Affleck, and the main female lead looks just like a younger, pre-basic instict Sharon Stone...
So through the entire movie, I'm sitting there thinking...Is that Ben Affleck? Is THAT Sharon Stone.
Like when I saw the movie "The Frighteners" (good movie actually). There was this chick that looked JUST LIKE Andie McDowell... In fact, I think her resume actually says "Looks Just Like Andie McDowell"
Okay. Im gonna go smoke. Discuss.
115. Katie-be-bored-at-work said:
I'm partial to the zzzzzip fump or the Boing! But if you wanted to take a more original approach, maybe "Sha-ZAM!"

There are quite a few onomatopoeias that you could use for a spritely erection. Other than "Sha-ZAM!", how about "Beep Beep" - like the roadrunner. Or even "bonk bonk", like a bicycle horn, or those annoying horns that clowns honk.

Who am I kidding, I'm just hoping my bridesmaid makes it to the chapel on time, my veil comes in before we leave for vegas, etc etc...

150. kalki said:
Granted, Heather is quite the celebrity. And Heather does get more comments on her blog than Rosie does on hers, so at least in the blog world I suppose Heather is a bigger star.
Still, it's ROSIE O FUCKING DONNELL. Sorry, I'm a fan.

Oh! I wanted to comment on Chuck's corndog/stick snarfing incident. FUNNY!
On vacation with our dog Kota, and a friends' dog Cody, a blue throw rug got eaten while we were out to dinner. We of course blamed Cody, the young wild yellow lab. The next day, Kota walked through the living room, tail curled up over her back, as usual....with blue carpet fiber sticking out of her butthole. OOPS.

I think a good progression is salt shaker, A-1 bottle, Kikkoman bottle, wine bottle, rolling pin.

G'night. (I can't believe I popped in here just then. Still surreal...)

To clarify, "the topic" meaning mrtl's missing comment.

Oooh Heather goes Aussie Radio on us .. awesome to hear you today, especially being from Down Under. It's like birthday present for me too (for tommorrow). Great interview :)
Hooray for sunsets and radio!

I was just interviewed for Aussie radio too. Weird, seriously. Mine is for a deal about bloggers as well, for About.com. Trippy shit.
Ps, Heather looks like the nun who scrambles about with Bill Pullman on Revelations. Thats hot.

i agree with renee ... i had the same thought ... thumbnail looks like a scrabble piece ... and then i stopped reading ... so many comments must get to be a bit time consuming

Just heard you on ABC radio. Good for you, and they had the question you expected regarding writing about Leta. If anyone missed it, the interview is available for download from ABC website http://www.abc.net.au/rn/talks/lm/
