  • 30. Dazed & Confuzed said:

*AP Wire (Salt Lake City)* - Cindy Lou Who (Who seems to be no more than two at this writing) was seen earlier today levitating over Salt Lake City, miles away from her Whoville home. When questioned by the FAA, Ms. Who cryptically announced "Leoddely odddely ooooh" and promptly spat a piece of carrot into the chimney of a home in Burlington Addition East.

  • 31. annabelle said:

My mother also told me that a high forehead is a sign of intelligence, which sometimes made me feel better about the plane state between my eyebrows and hairline.

  • 32. Evil Stepmother said:

So THAT'S where the pink teletubby went.

Just kidding. Your chawin' redneck baby is gorgeous. And you are mean for doing that to her hair. It is, however, your right after all the pregnancy and labor and PPD and all.

  • 37. Creepy Susie said:

Dooce - Is it that my daughter's hair is uncooperative? I can't get her hair into ponytails without almost thoroughly wetting it down first. Pretty much every picture I take of her with pigtails, you can tell her hair is all wet, and then it's an absolute FRIGHT when she pulls out the elastic (which she loves to do in public). What gives?

baby moving is like scary movies where the 'horror' moves superfast from hallway to room to bite-size legos (or any small object) being put into mouth to drive momma crazy - two kids later and i still can't move that fast!!

  • 115. cathy milw said:

Looking at the little pigtails, all I can think is "ouch!" I remember what those felt like. It took me until I was at least five until my hair grew in thick enough to desensitize me from the pain of rubber bands pulling on fine hair and tender scalp.

Also, I have still not forgiven my parents for one particular bib that had crackly plastic edging around the collar.

  • 125. Bucky Four-Eyes said:

Tiffany, is the hairdo giving you ideas if you have a girl this time?
Or are you plotting evil things for Nicolaus' hair?

Striz -- I didn't actually "steal" my parents' car. Let's call it "liberation."

  • 126. ashik said:

    me too Marie

  • 128. Bucky Four-Eyes said:

mg2, when I get the Crisco and koi fish, it's less to do with car stealin' and more to do with butt burg'lin'

In your case, the nutcracker would be superfluous, though.

The funny thing about the Capone convertible was that it had no rag top, so when it rained they would just put up the metal rag skeleton. :0P This *was* like way back in like the 60s or something.

I came across your website a couple of months ago when I googled "desire to walk" I think I found Jon's site first, then yours. I have a 16 month old that's been on her own timetable of locomotion as well. Also like Leta, she and her 4 year old sister have inherited what my husband calls a FIVEHEAD.

Go Leta! You little sweetie. Give your mom an extra squawk that she not leave the room without you on my behalf. I think she's pretty darn neat too.

Yeah for the moving Leta. These developmental milestones are all blessing/curse pairs. Excited that your kid can toss a ball to you? Wait until the munchkin pitches a block at your head.

And so on that topic, I see a cable from the front of the TV to some interesting electronics below. Now that Leta can move (are you not panicked enough? sorry...) she might well make a beeline for that. Oh, and everything else dangerous.

Since I have an older boy, we have to block off the whole TV area if he wants to watch TV, as otherwise the baby stands up right in front of the TV, arms wide, and pounds on it with his hands. Older brother is not amused.

Anyway, I'm just so excited she's on the move. Woo-hoo.
