This kid better get used to hand-me-downs

That sound you heard was one very delighted almost five-year-old:

The upside? I will never have to grapple with the decision of whether or not to circumcise another human being. Downside... the possibility of three women in one house menstruating simultaneously.

Jon is so outnumbered. And we both could not be more thrilled.

Just make sure you save the sonogram with the circled 'girl parts'--it will be lovely on display when Aurora gets married, and you have photos of her and her husband as they were growing up at the reception site...

Hey--you guys will be paying for the wedding--you get to choose the pictures!

Or not, if they choose to elope like her parents.

Another vote for Fawnzelle Aurora Armstrong--it rolls so nicely off the tongue. Plus, no annoying problems with other kids having the same name in school...

The three women menstruating at the same time should not be his biggest fear - two girls menstruating and one nearing or starting menopause - my husband has already designed the blueprints for the husband apartment out back... Good luck to him.

Congrats on the news!!! I love having two little girls.

I'm so happy for you guys! I just had my own baby girl Dec 1st and started reading your blog from your first pregnancy on. It has been so nice having something good to read during late night feedings. I have to admit that I am sad to have caught up to the current entries. I will miss the instant gratification of being able to hit the "next" button. Oh well, I will deal because your writing is great and I am hooked!

As much as I adore my son, I am SO glad for you that you don't have to grapple with the circ issue, as that's a tough one for sure. We're Jewish and we had it done, but I think both the baby and I would have to be under general anesthesia if our next child is a boy.
Much happiness to all of you!

I am thrilled for you all that not only is she healthy, but Leta gets that sisterly love/hate relationship. You keep hearing this in comments, but as a mother of 3 girls under the age of 9, my husband and I wouldn't change a thing (well, not true all the time...i don't want to change their sex parts but i do want to dump them off at a Nebraska hospital every few days or so). Leta will be a huge help and probably tell you exactly what you're doing wrong!
